My 1st Cover

Boxing is the subject I've had published the most. One of the reasons for that is the opportunity given to me by Ed Mulholland. Ed is one of the foremost Boxing Photographers working today. He and his partners founded Fightwireimages to supply images to magazines and websites throughout the world.

Ed who lives in New Jersey has assigned myself and fellow photog Craig Bennett to many west coast fights. My last assignment, a match between Christobal Arreola and Vitali Klitschko resulted in my first magazine cover, the October 2nd issue of Boxing News.

Both Craig and I were posted in the "Alternate Location" which means we were not on the ring. Not the place one wants to be after fighting LA traffic to get downtown and parking a half mile away. This happens when there is more major media interest than room on the ring. We made the best of it and shot the fight with 400mm lenses.

Can I do this ?

With my interest in sports photography I regularly get ask what I've been shooting lately.... so I thought I'd give this a try. I've avoided starting a Blog for many reasons. Not the least of which is my lack of writing skill and the dedication required to keep it updated. I can't keep my camera gear organized so how will I maintain a Blog ? Well here goes....... my goal is to post 2-3 times per month. I have become interested in landscape photography as well as portraiture of late and will post some of that to. Please feel free to give me any advise or comments to help me improve my writing and or photography. Here we go....................... Thanks to Michael Foo for the image of the old guy......
